OPSC OCS Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should review the eligibility conditions for Group A and Group B posts as specified in OPSC OCS Notification 2026 before applying. Those who do not meet the eligibility requirements of the programs will be rejected, and their applications will be removed from processing.
Educational Qualification
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a State or nationally recognized university, or from a university deemed under Section 3 of the UGC. In addition, candidates must be able to read, write, and speak the Odia language and must have fulfilled at least one of the following conditions:
- Passed the Middle School Examination with Odia as a subject or language, or
- Passed the HSC or an equivalent examination with Odia as the medium of instruction for a non-language subject, or
- Studied Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class 8 from a school or educational institution.
Age Limit (as on 01/01/2025)
Candidates must be between 21 and 38 years old as of January 1, 2025. This means they should not have been born before 2nd January 1983 or after 1st January 2004. Age relaxation for candidates belonging to reserved categories will be applicable according to government rules.

OPSC OCS Selection Process 2026
The Odisha Civil Services Examination 2026 selection process for Group A and Group B posts will comprise three stages, including a preliminary exam, a main exam, and a personality test/interview. The preliminary exam serves only as a qualifying or screening test, and the marks scored in this stage are not considered while preparing the final merit list. Candidates who pass the preliminary examination will be able to take the main examination. The final selection and merit ranking will be determined based on the combined performance of candidates in the mains examination and the interview.

All candidates who are provisionally selected and appointed will receive a competitive monthly salary along with various allowances and additional benefits. Those appointed to Group A posts will be offered a pay of ₹56,100, while candidates selected for Group B posts will receive a salary of ₹44,900. These pay scales fall under Pay Level-12, Cell-1 of the Pay Matrix as per Rule-3 of the ORSP Rules, 2027.
